REITTI is versatile Maybe you are an experienced hiker or maybe a beginner – REITTI offers something for everyone. Here follows a brief trail stage list of the REITTI proceeding from West to East: Your route start point in the western trail section
of REITTI could, for example, be the cottage in Susisuo or the former
school in Preiviiki The Preiviiki – Yyteri stage with its several bird watch towers, in contrast, is an ideal destination for bird watchers, since curving through the coastal landscapes by the Bothnian Sea surrounding the Bay of Preiviiki, considered one of the most appreciated bird watch sites it ends at the famous dune area of Yyteri. In the Ahlainen area REITTI mostly leads along idyllic village roads, therefore, in addition to hiking, you can also rather magnificently explore this unique village milieu by biking. Merikarvia’s REITTI is characterised by the field roads leading from village to village, on which you can pleasantly hike side by side, moreover by its paths full of history. The special feature of Noormarkku’s trail stage is the river: Noormarkunjoki. Hiking along its wilderness-like, peaceful banks, while watching how the beavers do their construction and how cheerfully the canoers proceed, is the best medicine against the rush of weekdays. In Pomarkku’s central part, there is an about 800 hectare large raised bog; Isoneva, on which there is a wooden boarded path of several kilometres curving, which is easy to walk and suits even the smallest children. Joutsijärvi’s approximately 27 km long reitti trail goes around Joutsijärvi, a lake famous for its peace and silence, an area reserved for those who trek around relying on muscle power, where there are some smoke saunas just as accommodation and tourist programme services available for hikers. Along Kustaa’s Path (“Kustaan polku”), which passing by smaller lakes and ponds unites the trail around Joutsijärvi with the one in Noormarkku, there is a real specialty to be found: Kustaa’s original smokey cottage serving as free-access wilderness cottage, where an overnight stay surely becomes an ineradicable memory for any hiker. In Northern Satakunta, REITTI climbs up to Hämeenkangas, an easy-to-walk ridge with a dense network of campfire places, and leads on crossing the unparalleled tourism zone in Jämi, taking you towards Pirkanmaa. In Pirkanmaa, REITTI leads on in a more densely populated neighbourhood, but this will not impede a hiker from enjoying, for example, the cultural landscape in Hämeenkyrö and the peace offered by this easy-to-walk trail in the middle of vast, pine-dominated, moraine-soiled woodlands. The eastern route end point of REITTI is the Outdoorers’ Cottage in Lamminpää, situated on the border of Ylöjärvi and Tampere. Select your own favourite REITTI route – and
go hiking!
